Access requirements

Recommended admission profile

The recommended entry profile is to hold an engineering degree, bachelor's degree or master's degree (or equivalent foreign qualification) in the field of Information Technologies and Telecommunications. Direct access to the programme is only possible after completing a research master's degree. Any other situation may require additional training.

The access possibilities are:

  • Bachelor's degree + Master's degree (professional): requires additional training.
  • Engineer (5 years) + Master's degree in research: direct access.
  • Engineer (5 years) + master's degree (professional): may require additional training, depending on the master's degree.
  • Engineer (5): needs additional training.
  • Technical engineer + research master's degree: direct access to the master's degree, provided that at least 300 ECTS credits have been earned.
  • Engineer with doctoral courses: direct access.
  • Higher engineer + DEA: direct access.
  • Degree/Engineer/Technical Engineer + master's degree from an old plan: direct access.

The requirements for access to doctoral studies are set out in article 6 of Royal Decree 99/2011, of 28 January, which regulates official doctoral studies, as amended by Royal Decree 576/2023, of 4 July.
